Non-Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for non-domestic buildings provide an assessment of the energy efficiency of commercial properties, including offices, retail premises and other non-residential buildings. The certificate provides an energy rating from A to G, where A represents the highest level of energy efficiency and G the lowest.

The assessment considers factors such as building fabric, heating systems, cooling systems, ventilation and lighting in order to evaluate the overall energy performance of the building.

Energy Performance Certificates are also required for new commercial buildings on the Isle of Man to demonstrate compliance with the Building Regulations and confirm the energy performance of the completed building.

Energy assessments for commercial buildings can also support businesses participating in energy efficiency initiatives such as the Business Emissions Saving Scheme (BESS) administered by the Isle of Man Department for Enterprise, where energy audits are required to identify opportunities to reduce energy use, improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
